Breast Cancer Screening
Breast cancer screening allows us to detect tumors as small as 1 cm and should be done regularly. Apart from self-examination, which should be done at least once a month 3-10 days after the first day of your period, starting from the onset of menstruation as a habit, regular screening at the hospital is recommended at least once a year.
Breast Examination by a Doctor: A specialist breast surgeon will examine for abnormalities in the breast, such as lumps, discharge from the nipple, sores, or swollen lymph nodes. They will also interpret mammogram and ultrasound results to plan appropriate care.
Mammogram and Ultrasound: For ages 35-40, start with one mammogram. After age 40, it is recommended to have one every 1-2 years. Namarak Hospital has modern, highly accurate screening tools, including:
- 3D Digital Mammogram
- High-resolution Ultrasound, with a radiologist performing a second confirmation after the automatic ultrasound
Service Fees:
- Hospital service fee: 400 THB
- Mammogram and ultrasound: 4,500 THB (ultrasound only: 3,000 THB)
- Doctor’s fee: approximately 900-1,200 THB
Cycle Time:
- Mammogram and ultrasound: about 1.5-2.5 hours
- Doctor consultation: about 15-30 minutes
