There are several causes why a person may have to consider removing a lump or any breast diseases as a treatment.

  • Fibroadenomas are common benign tumors of the breast that are most often found in young women. Surgeons may suggest removal of fibroadenomas that are larger than 2 to 3 cm or in lump that is palpable either by a local or general anesthesia.
  • Microdochectomy is a procedure wherein a mammary duct is removed in case where there is a nipple discharge, blood or fluid, caused by benign growth in the mammary duct or ductal carcinoma. The operation is performed through a small incision placed along the areola to remove the abnormal or discharging duct under general anesthesia.
  • Needle localization excision is performed with a nonpalpable breast mass and or with abnormal calcification. Using an imaging guidance with either mammogram or ultrasound to locate the breast mass and pinned a thin wire

unto the suspicious tissue before surgery. Ultrasound and Trident X-Ray

(unique specimen image processing) are used to detect before a precise removal of the mass is conducted under general anesthesia.
